I just typed a good answer and it didn't submit. Hm, anyway here's my ideas... Whatever you do, please don't take a straight iron to it. My cousin did it everyday and the last time she got her hair cut, our hairdresser informed her that her hair is so damaged and broken that it's going to take a long time to be healthy again. Secondly, there are a lot of products out there for curls, invest in some shampoo %26amp; conditioner specially formulated for curly hair [Sunsilk, Herbal Essense, etc]. Along with these shampoos and conditioners come a full line of styling products like mousse, gels, hairsprays and anti-frizz serums. As far as hair styles go, headbands and head scarves are all the rage right now, or pull it back with some cute little clips to get it out of your face. If you want to dry your hair, get a hairdryer with a diffuser as it concentrates the heat on smaller sections of the hair making frizz yesterday's news. I wish I had curly hair so I could do stuff like this to it, but instead I was born with poker straight hair. Good luck!!

Curly hair is a pain. Once a week I let honey in mine. Honey works well to rehydrate your hair and gets rid of frizz. Try to stay away from heavy hair products. After I get out of the shower I use a paper towel to scrunch my hair. This helps define curls. Any hairstyle depends on your face shape. Hope this helps.

I too have very curly and frizzy hair. When I want to style it, after showering, I towel dry a little and apply John Freeda's frizz-ease serum. Let dry and use a flat iron or large curling iron to remove the curls. When I want to wear it curly, After towel drying (lightly) I apply a holding gel. Scrunch with my fingers. Do not comb, just let it air dry.

I have very curly layered hair and I usually do one of two tings. If I have time I straighten with my iron, but if I have 15 minutes before I need to leave and don't want to fool around and be late I mousse, scrunch, flip my head over and blow dry on low for a few minutes and go! The mousse controlls the frizz, defines the curls, and stays all day which is best!

First, you can wash your curly hair every day, but you shouldn't wash it with shampoo. Find a good conditioner that adds moisture to hair like Herbal Essance or Garnier Fructis for curls. Try to find a conditioner without any silicones. Before going into the shower, brush your hair thoroughly. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water. Put about a palm full of conditioner on your hair and massage it in well for about 2 minutes. Let the conditioner stay on your hair for about 5 minutes or longer if your hair is very dry. Dry your hair gently Do not comb your hair!! Put in some leave in conditioner that usually takes care of the frizz like Bumble and Bumble, Aussie Insurance..Finish with a styling lotion like Bumble %26amp; Bumble curl creme or Bedhead Curls Rock. Then let your hair air dry or use a diffuser!!

Trim the hair every 6-8 weeks to get rid of stringy ends and keep the hair looking tapered. Try putting on some lavender oil or coconut oil in your hair for styling. This will reduce the frizz, while conditioning your hair and protecting it against sun damage.

You can have have long hair with layers then the side swept bangs can be straightened you can wear it with a headband they are really in style now.

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sulfates). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (read more about this at one of the websites) . Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Aussie Moist Conditioner. The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream, Tressemme Clean Hold Gel, and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- "Strictly Curls" is a book about curly hair up dos and such. I like to sweep hair back with 2 crisscrossed bobby pins after parting my hair to the side. I also like to wear my hair half up and leave out individual curls to frame my face.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!
